Well its most definately summer in Zululand, the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve has received some good rains and to date the Black Umfolozi River has come down 5 times this large amount of water that brings much needed relieve to the area is most needed.
The reserve has once again become a green paradise, areas that we are travelling to at present remain the south Umfolozi as it remains on of the areas that we get excellent sightings in. Our sightings included the following for the past few weeks. Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Leopard and lots of Rhino ( Black & White ) other interesting sightings have included somewhat less Wild Dog sightings as the vegetation has quickly grown high and this obviously causes sightings to be more restricted, however the watering holes and river banks still offer one great vantage points from where one can wait and experience some awesome sightings.
As we get closer to our dry months again the grass will get even higher and it is recommended that should one be travelling to the reserve try to make sure that one can make use of a 4 by 4 as their are certain areas with height restrictions.
Keep on travelling and always safari to Zululand
Its not the speed that one travels at but rather the experience of seeing it all…..
