Easy Kwa Zulu Natal boasts the most Parks in any one Province , Zululand the Northern section of Natal has numerous Parks to venture into, these include the following Hluhluwe / Imfolozi ( Umfolozi ) , Isimangaliso Wetlands Park ( The Largest and also a World Heritage Site Unesco 1999) , Umkuze , Tembe & Ndumo.
So what we have a lot of animals you might say all we need to do is goto Kruger National Park , wrong this area not only offers you choice but also identification of what type of species you might be prowling for. For example lets start in the Northern section of Zululand ,Tembe Park is awesome THE LARGEST ELLEPHANTS in Africa dont believe me then check out www.tembe.co.za they live cams running daily and between 11:00 and 14:00 you have a chance to view these creatures in the comfort of your chair. The Park not as big is situated close to Mocambique just 30 minutes drive and wow your sipping tropical rum and enjoying a different country.
Ndumo situated more to the East of Tembe also offers clients a experience of what natural Africa must have been like in the days gone by, good hides and accesibility make this a good park to venture too.
Umkhuze Now thats a park for the Birders , this is Birders paradise with hundreds of species dont forget the checklist and loads of pencils , you wont want to leave this one.
Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve my personal favorite is just what you thought you would never see , its magical , rollings hills , Zulu Culture , safe the Rhino Campaighn , Game Capture programs and Big 5 make’s this National Park ( EZEMVELO KZN Wildlife ) a must see , do it by Safari or self drive you most definately will be suprised and its wonders. Ask many a traveller what it is that makes this park unique and they will say size and the ability to Safari through it with ease , conjestion occurs in Season ( Mid July to end November ) in the Hluhluwe section , however the southern section of the Imfolozi offers you absolute nature at its best. Tour operators offering safaris to this section are mostly from the Town of St Lucia yet another reason to stay in Zululand , St Lucia borders the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park and is the gateway to the Southern section of this Park a world heritage site.
St Lucia South Africa offers you a lot , accommodation , activities , safaris , warm Indian Ocean beach , snorkeling at Cape Vidal , Whale watching , turtle viewing , game fishing , night drives , zulu culture and the list goes on and on.
So still need a destination consider Zululand the land of Wildlife.
